I know this is dead as TBC, but a Marks rotation should look like this.

On Bosses to Open
1) Serpent
2) Mark (if not already done)
2a) Kill Command or as soon as your pet deals damage
3) Chimera
4) Aimed
5) Arcane
6) Steady

Then Priority
Chimera>Aimed>Arcane>Steady also you can throw Silence out if you have it. Keep Kill Command on CD. Use Rapid Fire with about 30%(boss dependant), once Kill Shot is up hit it, the use Readiness and hit it again along with Rapid Fire or wait for Bloodlust if Shammy is in grp. With Ferocity pet I also burn the Roar (whatever its called).

Glyph with TSA, Serpent, and your choice of Chimera, Kill Shot (minor Glyphs are worthless)

Use a Wolf pet, I like to have them with Heart Of Pheonix in case they die, give themn charge or dash, but not both. If you are Arm Pen capped, you might want to use a Wasp to add +5% arm pen, but I am not there yet myself.

I never really liked wolf pets. I prefer cats... As for the wasp, where would I find one I can tame? I didn't realize they were "beasts"...

My new "rotation" is: sting, aimed, arcane, silence, steady spam until SS is low then pop chimera, hopefully with the improved steady shot proc.

Cats are worthless unless soloing or in a BG like Warsong when the Flag carriers are barricaded. Wasps can be found in the Scholazar Basin and the Sithlid varieties in other place in the world. To improve your personal dps get a wolf, they are BiS for SV or MM hunters right now.

Get rid of ImpSS and pick up ImpMarks on row 2 or 3. Then throw the mark on everything before engaging or while your pet begins the engagement.

If you are in need of mana efficiency, in heroics do not forget about Viper Sting w/ Chimera shot instead of always using Serpent. On boss fights who do not have mana to drain use a pot and Viper aspect as desperation. Also in your blue slots pop the Dreadstone cut that is agi and +mana/5 or if your crit is already close to 40% I have put a int gem in a yellow slot or you could use an orange gem that is int and whatever other stat you are lacking. Remember Int for us MM hunters also translates 1:1 for AP. With these few changes I got rid of using either the mana efficiency talent and/or the rapid killing/the mana refund talent (which is pretty crappy for a raid environment anyway).

As to your rotation bind your silence to one of your shots like Arcane and move Chimera up to atleast behind Aimed. This strat is for bosses or long fights only. For trash your rotation is what I usually do more or less. Sometimes I won't even bother with SS and just hit it with aimed and arcane and Steady for the kill.

I have both improved mark AND improved steady. I know of several talents I can move around to improve dps, but I choose not to at this point. Mostly because the concussive barrage and improved conc shot talents are helpful for both soloing and the occasional pvp run.

The World of Warcraft Armory

Armory link in case you want to go look.

What wilx said and make sure to macro silencing shot in with one of your other shots as it doesn't trigger a global cooldown, same goes for rapid fire, and kill command. Doing that will save keystrokes and make sure that those skills are fired off immediately after cool down which will give a fairly significant dps boost. Also there is the matter of readiness the general thought is that you're going to save rapid fire for a boss fight, so you pop it when the fight starts, wait for it to run down, then after making sure chimera and aimed are both on cool down pop readiness and rapid fire and get another free chimera and aimed at the same time. If this goes off as planned you can expect some huge dps numbers on boss fights
